I Dreamed a Dream

I dreamed a dream in time gone by

時光苒茌夢境再次到來

When hope was high, and life worth live

I dreamed that love would never die.

I dreamed that God would be forgiving

Then I was young and unafraid.

And dreams were made used and wasted.

夢想荒唐恣意浪擲

There was no ransom to be paid.

No song unsung, no wine untasted.

But the tigers come at night

遠方戰火是夜襲捲

with their voices soft as thunder.

低沉如雷憂心恐懼如夜掩至

As they tear your hope apart.

and they turn your dream to shame.

夢想的實踐如同笑話幻滅
